A posada is a Mexican tradition where Mary and Joseph travel around the community during Advent as preparation for celebrating the birth of Christ. In some communities hosts invite others to be present when receiving the figures or to come and see them.
For the first time the figures of Mary and Joseph will be travelling around our church community and everyone is invited to host them for a night.
A book accompanies the figures for folk to write about their experiences of hosting Mary and Joseph and how they welcomed them.
Here is our posada which will start its journey on the first Sunday in Advent.
