The whole church recently welcomed two new members both called Doreen. One Doreen wasn’t entirely new to us because she had attended years ago but went to another church with her husband. The other Doreen joined after coming to our lunch club and exercise class and appreciated the warm welcome. It is a real delight that they have joined us and they are already at home and have become part of the community.

The first six week course has now been completed and to give the youngsters something to work for it was decided to present four sketches at our morning service on 11th October. Apart from a few hiccoughs, probably due to ‘first night’ nerves, all went well and the congregation was most appreciative. As the young people are very enthusiastic, there will be another six weeks course in the new year. Dates and further details will be advertised later this year.
It was good to see a number of families and friends coming to support the young people and we all enjoyed refreshments together afterwards.

And it’s not just on Friday. The coffee bar will be donating to Macmillan all funds raised from their cake sales during the week beginning 21 September.
