The Mayor of the London Borough of Bexley, Councillor Sybil Camsey (who also happens to be one of members and organist) paid a very welcome visit to our Lunch Club recently. Sybil met the people who were in for lunch and then had lunch herself. After lunch she put on her full regalia and told us something about it and also about her activities since she became mayor. If you would like to come to our lunch club see more here.

If you would like a home cooked lunch among friends why not visit us on Thursdays.
We are open to everyone from 10.30am to 1.30pm for coffee and lunch. It is good to turn up around midday to get the best choice of our main meals – we do sell out!
A menu of both main meals and snacks are served. Don’t eat on your own come and eat in a friendly atmosphere and make new friends. At Christmas we have two weeks when we serve a traditional lunch as well as our normal snack menu.

We bade our final farewell to John and Ann with a buffet lunch at Bexley URC after Sunday service on February 19th when both churches in the pastorate gathered. Presentations were made and good wishes were given to them both before they started a new phase of their ministry in Chesterfield.
It was with some sadness that we gathered at morning service on February 12th for John’s last service at Geddes Place which included Holy Communion. It was an opportunity for people who were unable to attend the pastorate lunch at Bexley URC on the next Sunday. John spoke of our time together during the past six years and how we should face the future with confidence. After the service John and Ann cut a celebration cake. We wish them every blessing as they continue their ministry in Chesterfield.
There was also a large gathering at the Lunch Club recently with both ‘regulars’ and representatives from our Partner Groups coming to say Good Bye to John and Ann. John’s friendly presence every week has been much valued and will be missed. A presentation was made and it was very happy occasion but also tinged with sadness.Ann Cook, Bexleyheath URC, Geddes Place United Reformed Church, Lunch Club, Revd John Cook
