The Danish Boys and Girls Brigade (FDF) National Brass Band is touring England from 29th March to 4th April 2010. The Band last visited England in 2005, and the connections and friendships established at that time will be further strengthened with this visit.
The members of the FDF National Brass Band are from the children’s and youth organisation FDF, a sister organisation of the Boys’ and Girls’ Brigade in England. Many of the band’s members are leaders, conductors and instructors from a total of 10 local FDF bands across Denmark.
The Band’s repertoire is a wonderful mix of classical music, classic brass band music, movie and television soundtracks, popular music, jazz and swing; in short, any type of music that challenges the Band. The concert is performed with a twinkle in the eye and a smile, and we trust we can guarantee an excellent and very varied concert experience.
This season, the FDF National Brass Band is conducted by John Frederiksen, a trained trumpeter who has previously performed with the Southern Jutland Symphony Orchestra.
We enjoyed a wonderful concert on April 1st and we would like to thank the band and their conductor, John Fredericksen for such brilliant entertainment. We hope they enjoy the rest of their time in the United Kingdom. Click here for some photographs taken during their time with us.
